Obituary: Everette James Link, 86, of Kannapolis went to be with his Lord on Monday, July 3, 2017 at Five Oaks Manor following a period of declining health. He was born April 9, 1931 in Cabarrus County, NC a son of the late Watt Link and the late Annie Lee Sides Link. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Link on January 30, 2011, a sister, Annie Faye Christy, and a granddaughter, Angel. Everette was of the Baptist Faith. He was a retired supervisor in the sheet distribution department with Fieldcrest Cannon with 30 years of service. He loved to work puzzles, fish, and enjoyed woodworking. Those left to cherish his memory are three daughters; Debbie Campbell (Jeff) of Kannapolis, Ann Campbell (Kenneth) of Salisbury and Amy Greene (P.J.) of Chester, Va. He is also survived by three grandchildren; Chris, Kendra, and Jenny, and seven great-grandchildren; Zachary, Emily, Lily, Emma, Jaden, Gus and Byrond. He also leaves his special canine friend, Cornbread. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Mike Edwards. Entombment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park Plaza Mausoleum. "Daddy, you were always the first man that loved us first, the first man to hold our hands and hearts, the best Santa Claus any little child could believe in. You could always see treasure in other's discarded things; however we always knew we were your own truest treasures. You were the fixer of broken things, but the one thing we wish you could fix now, is our broken hearts... Night Papa, love you and we'll see you when we get Home".
