Faye Griffin Graybeal

Obituary: - Faye Griffin Graybeal, age 90, died Sunday, May 5, 2013 at Caremoor Retirement Center, Kannapolis, NC after six months of declining health and a brief illness. She was born August 1, 1922 in Union County, NC, the daughter of the late John Walter Griffin and Louella Sells Griffin. She was a 1940 graduate of Unionville High School. In 1941, she moved to Kannapolis, NC where she worked for the former Cannon Mills Company, Plant One, Sheet Dept. and worked for the company for over forty-five years until her retirement. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Kannapolis, NC where she had taught Sunday School in earlier years and was also active with the Helen Brisson Sunday School Class. She is fondly remembered by her family as an excellent cook and a very loving mother. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by four brothers, Bruce, Aubrey, Claude, and Burin Griffin; and her two sisters, Evelyn Duncan and Julia Petrea . The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Dr. Thomas Cabaniss. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at the funeral home. Survivors include her son, Dennis W. Graybeal & wife, Marcia of Kannapolis, NC; her grandson, Trent Graybeal of Kannapolis, NC; one sister, Lillian Benton of Monroe, NC; and a number of nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to her home church, First Baptist Church, 101 N. Main Street, Kannapolis, NC 28081 or to a church of your choice. On-line condolences may be left at www.whitleysfuneralhome.com.
Visitation: 6:00-8:00PM Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Whitley's Funeral Home.

Service: 2:00PM, Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel.
