Faye Lane

Obituary: Faye Owens Lane, aged 94, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2018. Born in Brevard, NC, on April 23, 1923, Mrs. Lane was the daughter of the late William and Sally Owens. She was a devoted wife and loving mother who enjoyed life and her family, and will be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lane was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, Vaughn "Doc" Lane; their son, Michael Lane; and seven brothers: Alvin Owens, Frank Owens, William Owens, Jimmy Owens, Harry Owens, John Henry Owens, and Bobby Owens, all of Brevard, NC. She retired from Cannon Mills in 1984, and was a member of Lane Street Baptist Church. Mrs. Lane is survived by her daughters, Jeanne Correll (Gerald), Pamela Lane, and Marsha Andrews (Richard); a sister, Geraldine Garren (Carl) of Brevard, NC; four grandchildren, Jeri Stancil, Jennifer Carroll (Bill), Laine Andrews, Brian Lane (Julie), and Sarah Glasoe (Ben); three great-grandchildren, Slade Carroll, Elizabeth Carroll, and Kaitlyn Hoff; and her two adored companion animals, Abbie and Charlie. A celebration of Mrs. Lane's life will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
