Ferrell James, Sr.

Obituary: Ferrell Allen James, 82, of Kannapolis passed away on Monday, May 23, 2016 at CHC-NorthEast. He was born December 15, 1933 in Rowan County, the son of the late Reppard Allen James and Carrie Lee Jordan James. He was preceded in death by a sister, Hilda James Redmond. Ferrell was an airline pilot with the former Piedmont Airlines and then US Air for 30 years. Ferrell's passion was aviation. He also restored antique aircraft and taught many people how to fly throughout the years. Ferrell built a real estate empire in the area over the years. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 PM Friday, May 27, 2016 at Whitley's Funeral Home. The family will be at the home at other times and after the gathering. Ferrell is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Betty Albright James, daughter, Rebekah James and husband Randy Pless, son, Ferrell A. James, Jr. and wife Tammy A.
