Fidel Velazquez, Jr.

Fidel Velazquez, Jr., 37, of Kannapolis, NC passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2023, at Atrium Health Cabarrus from injuries sustained from a motor vehicle accident.

Fidel was born on October 17, 1985, in Fort Myers, FL.  Fidel was a warm and outgoing guy who radiated happiness and a love for all life had to offer. His smile and laugh were contagious enough to light up the room and he adored the people around him more than anything. If you had the chance to meet him, he would definitely make an impact in your life that’s unforgettable.

Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Marley Velazquez of Kannapolis, mother, Jody Wright Eller of Kannapolis, father and stepmother, Fidel Lanuza Velazquez, Sr. and Patricia Lopez of Kannapolis, two brothers, Esteban Velazquez and Christopher Velazquez both of Kannapolis, and one sister Mia Velazquez of Kannapolis.

A visitation will be held Wednesday July 26, 2023, from 1:00 – 2:00 PM at Whitley’s Funeral Home with a funeral service starting at 2:00 PM in the Chapel, with Pastor Randy Simmons officiating.  Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in China Grove.
