Flora Ann Honbarger

Obituary: China Grove- Flora Ann Burris Honbarger, 77, passed away Sunday evening, August 12, 2018, at her home, following a period of declining health. Born April 10, 1941 in Rowan County, she was a daughter of the late Green Thomas Burris and Etta Mae Mabe Burris. In addition to her parents, preceding her in death were her sisters, Edna Ketner, Ollie Johnson, Rosie Love, Mamie Langley and Kathleen Pryor; brothers, Ted Burris, Fred Burris, Ed Burris, Zeb Burris, and infant brothers, Oscar Burris and Carl Burris. Mrs. Honbarger had worked for Parkdale Mills as an overhauler and was a member of Main Street Baptist Church. A loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Mrs. Honbarger enjoyed time spent with family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Family members with cherished memories include her husband of nearly 62 years, Norman Honbarger, Sr., her children, Norma Beaver (Donald) and Jr. Honbarger (Tammy); sister, Cora Honbarger (Carl); her brothers, Bill (Bobbie), Charlie (Mary), Larry (Marlene) and Herbert (Bobbie) Burris; grandchildren, Greg and Gary Beaver, Brandon Honbarger, Stephanie Brawley, Jill Broome, Ashley Straight and Aletha Gonzalez; her great-grandchildren, Breleigh Beaver, Hunter and Hayden Honbarger, Landon Barnhardt, Eli and Cadence Brawley, Tyler Furman, Jackson Straight, and Alaia and Maxtla Gonzalez; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 am Thursday, August 16, 2018, at Main Street Baptist Church. Funeral services to remember and celebrate the life of Mrs. Honbarger will begin at 11:00 am in the church, conducted by the Rev. Billy Beaver, Pastor. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove. Memorials may be made in Mrs. Honbarger's name to Main Street Baptist Church, 1615 N Main Street, China Grove, NC 28023.
