Obituary: Florean L. Clodfelter, 96 of Kannapolis went home to be with our Lord on Friday, January 15th. Mrs. Clodfelter was born in 1919 in her parent's home on Main Street, Kannapolis. She was the last surviving child of Mr and Mrs Romey Franklin Lovette of Kannapolis. Her late siblings included Raymond, Edward, Eunice (Colvard) and Baby Lovette. Mrs. Clodfelter worked in Cannon Mills for over 40 years. She was an inspector in the washcloth department, 2nd shift. She was a long time member of First Baptist Church where she was an active nursery teacher. Later in life, she became a shut in member of Central Baptist Church. Mrs. Clodfelter was preceded in death by her husband, Lester W. Clodfelter. They were married in 1940, separated by his passing in 2000. Married for over 60 years, they had 2 children. Nancy C. Hildreth (Morris) of Kannapolis and Larry W. Clodfelter (Deloris) of Concord. She had only one grandchild, Amy H. Brammer (Derick), 2 great grandchildren, Linzi and Wesley all of Kannapolis. Mrs. Clodfelter was an avid baker, enjoying new recipes. She enjoyed canning, planting flowers, ice cream and Sunday afternoon car rides. She also enjoyed being a surrogate mother, grandmother and great grandmother to her numerous nieces and nephews. The service for Mrs. Clodfelter will take place a 2:00 p.m., Monday, Jan. 18th at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Curtis Parker. Burial will take place at Carolina Memorial Park Mausoleum in Kannapolis. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00 p.m., before the service.
