Obituary: Florence Pauline Moon Brackett, 69 of Kannapolis died at CMC-University in Charlotte on Nov. 27, 2012 Pauline was born on January 29, 1943 to the late Loyd H. Moon and the late Zuline Gray Moon. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Mary Frances Brown. Known by friends and family as Pauline or Ms. P, and by her grandchildren as GrandMaMa or MawMawMom-Z, she was a lively, compassionate, tech-savy, and diva-like character. She was born and raised locally and a graduate of A.L. Brown. As a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist, she dedicated 26 years of her life to Hope Haven (Charlotte) helping hundreds of people transition to a better life. She was individually honored by the McLeod Institute at UNCC as an Unsung Hero, the Bettie Dibrell Practitioner Award, for her dedication, hard work, and love of those in her community. She was a peppy, loving, and honorable woman who will always remain in our hearts. She is survived by 3 sons: Todd Gibson (Paula) of GA, Mart Gibson (Sharon) of Kannapolis and Chad Gibson (Britney) of Gastonia, NC; 4 grandchildren, Erica Dawn Gibson of Virginia Beach, VA, Tyler Gibson of GA, Austin Gibson and Gabby Gibson both of Kannapolis; 3 brothers, L.J. Moon, Kenneth Moon and Tony Moon and a sister, Betty Saye. A receiving of friends will be held from 5-7:00 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 29th at Whitley's Funeral Home Annex Chapel.
