Floyd Rufty Buck Rogers

Obituary: Floyd Rufty "Buck" Rogers, 84, of Kannapolis died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010 at the Tucker Hospice House. He was born July 27, 1926 in Rowan County, the son of the late Homer Banks Rogers and Mary Elizabeth Scercy Rogers. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gisela Kaschner Rogers in 2008 . He was also preceded in death by four sisters, Joyce Steele, Ann Eddy, Dorothy Rogers and Nancy Litton and 3 brothers Donley, J.B. and Billy Rogers. He retired in 1988 from Cannon Mills Co Plant 4 after 36 years. He was a member of West A Tabernacle Church. He was a veteran of the US Army. He was an avid farmer bailing hay for many years in the area. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, Dec. 17, 2010 at West A Tabernacle Church officiated by Rev. Mike Austin and Rev. Richard Pethel. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior at church. He is survived by two sisters, Pauline Stanford and Mary Linker and three brothers Raymond, Carl and William Kenneth Rogers.
