Forrest Ramsey

Obituary: Mr. Forrest Lee Ramsey, 71, of Kannapolis went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at Tucker Hospice House following six months of declining health. He was born November 14, 1942 in Etowah Co, Alabama a son of the late Walter Lee and Mallie Dunn Ramsey. Forrest was a member of the Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ of Mooresville. During his younger years he and his wife were dairy farmers. He later worked for R.F. Shinn construction until his retirement due to disability. He enjoyed gardening. He dearly loved his family. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Daisy Lee Thompson Ramsey of the home, three sons, Rev. Daniel Lee Ramsey (Carol) of Mt. Gilead, Mitchell Lee Ramsey (Janice) of Rockwell, and Jimmy Wayne Ramsey (Stacy) of Kannapolis, two daughters; Carlene Ramsey Hayes (Monte) and Wanda Gail Zaquilin (Ray) all of Kannapolis, twelve grandchildren: Magan, Kendra, Christy, Breanna, Belinda, Ariel, Jill, Connie, Micheal, Jessie, Danielle and Hannah and twelve great grandchildren: Brian, T.T., J.J. Adrian, Lily, Frankie, Austin, Jaylah, Jordan, April, Peyton, and another on the way shortly. He is also survived by two brothers, Paul Ramsey of Durant, Florida, and Johnny Lee Ramsey of Trenton, Ga. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Tennie Ramsey Pullens of Trenton, Ga., Arlene Ramsey of Las Vega, NV and two brothers, Reno Ramsey of Callinsville, Alabama and Charlie Ramsey of Albertsville, Alabama. Funeral services will be 12:30 P.M. Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel conducted by Revs. Abraham Silva and Daniel Ramsey. Interment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove. The family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home from 10:30-12:30 P.M. prior to the service.
