Obituary: Frances Lorraine Robinson Clayton, 90, of Kannapolis passed away January 2, 2019. She was born November 26, 1928 in Union County, a daughter of the late John Harvey Robinson and Della Elizabeth Neal Robinson. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Earl F. Clayton and two brothers, John W. Robinson and Neil Robinson. Frances was a graduate of JW Cannon High School and Evans Business School. She moved to Charlotte in 1956 and worked as a secretary for a food brokerage firm for 15 years and also Eckerd Drugs district office for 14 years. She moved back to Kannapolis in 1985 to take care of Dad. She became a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where she was a member of Wesley Fellowship Seniors. Frances was also involved in the community with the Home Demonstration Club, the Red Hats, volunteered at the county fair and competed in the county senior games. She also loved gardening. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019 at Carolina Memorial Park officiated by Rev. Kirk Tutterow , Rev. Tracy Love and Rev. Don Shuman. She is survived by nieces, Cindy Braswell (Randy), Carol Allen (Darrell), Patty Aiken (Lee), nephew, Dennis Robinson (Diann) and many great nieces and nephews.
