Frances "Fran" Overcash Davis

Obituary: Frances (Fran) Irene Overcash Davis, 88, of Kannapolis went to be in the presence of the Lord on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at CHC-Northeast Medical Center, Concord following a sudden illness. Fran was born March 1, 1930 in Cabarrus County, NC a daughter of the late Turner Leroy Overcash and Maggie Janie Whittington Overcash. She was also preceded in death by nine siblings. She was employed at Cannon Mills Plant #1, Sheet Dept. for many years until her retirement. She was an active member of Lakewood Baptist Church for 69 years. She enjoyed singing in the church choir and was a Sunday school teacher for the Beginners Dept. Fran loved to read and collect magazines and enjoyed riding to the mountains for the Apple Festival. She also enjoyed going to stores and window shopping. Survivors include her husband of 64 years; George Frenchi Davis of the Home, three sisters; Mary Tino (Arnold) of Kannapolis, Sarah Russ of Concord, Emma Walters of Mooresville, and one brother Ralph Overcash of Mooresville. Nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, February 10, 2019 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Steve Leigh. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
