Frances Melton

Obituary: Kannapolis, NC- Frances Jean Milem Melton, age 79, passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Brian Center, Concord, NC after many years of illness. She was born December 20, 1936 in Cabarrus County, NC, the daughter of the late Carl Thomas Milem and Ruby McDaniel Milem. Frances was employed with the former Cannon mills Company, Plant One Twister Dept. and had worked for the company for 20 years until retirement. She loved to bake pies for almost everyone, sewing, and doing crafts. Frances was a member of the Baptist faith for most of her life. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Milem. The funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, October 7, 2016 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Tommy Register. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, October 6, 2016 at the funeral home. Survivors include her children, Jimmy Wayne Livengood & wife, Linda; Donna Gillespie & husband, Don; Carla Ann Miller; Bryan Lee Livengood; and Thomas Melton & wife, Amy; one sister, Benita Clayton & husband, Steve; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
