Frances Bostian Starnes

Obituary: Frances Marie Bostian Starnes, 74, of China Grove went to be with her Lord on Sunday, September 9, 2012. She was born on April 1, 1938, a daughter of the late William M. M. and Sadie Overcash Bostian. Frances faithfully attended Bethany Bible Church in Kannapolis. She spent her life as a homemaker and loving mother to her children and grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Robert Starnes; her sister, Phyllis Shoe and her brothers, Calvin and Council Bostian. Frances is survived by her children: Vickie Monroe (Tom), William "Will" Starnes, Robert "Bobby" Starnes (Sharon), Tammie Freeman, and Garry Starnes (Susan). "Maw" was the proud grandmother of Brian and Emily Monroe; Brittany and Nicholas "Nick" Starnes and their mother, Renee Nebosky; Christy Green and Tiffany Starnes; Andrew and Alyssa Freeman and their father, Tony Freeman; and Ashlyn and Tyler Starnes and their mother Tammy Britt. She was also the proud great-grandmother of Hunter and Cody Green. Other survivors include her 3 brothers: Ray and Howard Bostian, both of Concord and Robert Bostian of Muskegon, Michigan. Funeral services for Frances will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bobby Sutherland officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove. The family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, at other times they will be at her residence.
