Frances Pope Tate

Obituary: Frances Pope Tate, 90, of Kannapolis, NC died at Five Oaks Manor on Thursday, June 02, 2016. Mrs. Tate was born March 22, 1926 in Washington Co. VA, the daughter of the late Luther and Ada Miller Pope. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Tate who died in 2011 and a brother, Doug Pope. Frances' funeral will be held at 12:00 Noon Saturday, June 2, 2016 at Centerview Baptist Church with Rev. Willie Rash officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends at the church 1 hour prior to the funeral from 11:00 to 12:00 PM. Frances was a fantastic cook, and caregiver with a wonderful sarcastic sense of humor. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be dearly missed. Mrs. Tate is survived by 2 sons; Ronald Franklin Tate (Terry) and Robert Edmond Tate, Jr. (Tracie) and 2 daughters; Glenda Tate Kirkman and Lisa Tate Griffin (Mike). Frances is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, a brother, Bud Pope and a sister, Vivian Perkins.
