Frank O. Eagle

Obituary: Frank O. Eagle, 84, of Kannapolis died January 13, 2011 at the Brian Center. He was born January 31, 1926 in Cabarrus County, the son of the late Claude and Minnie Lawrence Eagle. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cynthia Jane Eagle in 1973. Frank was a veteran of WW II serving in the US Navy for 3 years and then served in the National Guard for 24 years. He was a supervisor in the spinning and card rooms at Cannon Mills Plant #10 where he worked for 43 years retiring in 1985. He was a member of Midway United Methodist Church where he was very active in various church activities and committees. He had been a former Sunday school teacher, former president of the United Methodist Men and was very active and instrumental with the weekly hot dog sales group at Midway for many years. In his later years, he enjoyed fellowship with the "Wendy's bunch" that met several times a week at Wendy's on South Cannon Blvd. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, Jan. 17, 2011 at Midway United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Dave Cash and Rev. Will Van Wieren. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park with military honors by the Cabarrus Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 PM Sunday at Whitley's Funeral Home. His body will lie in state at the church 1 hour prior to the service. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Starnes Eagle.
