Obituary: Frank Everette Foil, age 92, of Kannapolis died Friday, July 29, 2016 at Big Elm Nursing Center, after a period of declining health. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, August 1 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Frederick Guy officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove. The family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral from 12:00 to 2:00 PM on Monday, prior to the funeral. Frank was born Sept. 27, 1923 in Cabarrus Co., a son of the late William Monroe Foil and Ella Jeanette Hodge Foil. He was the last surviving child out of 13 siblings. Frank was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Hege Hill Russ. Frank was a lifelong area resident and lifelong member of Kimball Memorial Lutheran Church, where he was active on the church council and the property committee. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the US Army Air Corps. Frank worked for Cannon Mills Co., Plant 1, in the bleachery dept. for many years, retiring in 1986. Frank then worked many years as a trusted employee of Whitley's Funeral Home. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be deeply missed. Those left to cherish his memories include his wife of 70 years, Sudie Goodman Foil of the family home, his daughters; Diana Meinhart (Clayton) of Slatington PA, April Cooper (Jimmy) of Kannapolis and Karen Shaw (Pierson) of Hickory, his grandchildren; Reginald Blue, Steven Barr, Sarah Russ and Taylor Russ, 1 great-grandchild, Korben Blue as well as many nieces and nephews.
