Obituary: - Frank William Holloway, age 81, passed away on Friday, January 15, 2016 at The Parc at Sharon Amity, Charlotte, NC after a period of declining health. He was born June 3, 1934 in Gaston County, NC, the son of the late Ernest Gilbert Holloway and Ester Mae Case Holloway. Frank was employed for many years with the former Cannon Mills Company in Kannapolis and later with Cone Mills as an instructor. He retired in 1997. For seventeen years he and his late wife, Carol S. Holloway who died in 2012 lived in Holden Beach, NC where they met many friends. He had held his church membership at Peace Memorial Baptist Church, Holden Beach, NC. Among his many interests, he especially enjoyed fishing, gardening, and carpentry. His greatest loves were spending quality time with his family and giving his strong faith to the Lord. In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by three brothers, Herman, Roy, and Ray Holloway. The funeral service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Houit King . Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove, NC with military rites conducted by the U.S. Army & the Rowan County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home prior to the service. Survivors include children, Patricia Owens and Darlene Yates, both of Salisbury, NC; Juanita Mast of Gold Hill, NC; Ricky Holloway of Concord, NC; and Kenneth Holloway of Kannapolis, NC; one sister, Lillie Mae Parker of Camden, SC; ten grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
