Obituary: Frank Paul Nagy was born on April 14, 1927 in Genesee County Michigan. He was the son of the late Alexander and Tressa Balint Nagy and step- mother Mary Vargo. He passed away after a 6 week decline in health, on November 28, 2017 at Transitional Health Services in Kannapolis, NC, at the age of 90. Frank came to Kannapolis as a young man from Michigan. He was employed at Cannon Mills, where he met the love of his life. He worked as an insurance salesman; he served 2 years in the United States Army during the Korean War, and then was employed at Carolina Tractor and Equipment Company for 28 years. Frank was a devoted Husband, father, and grandfather. He and his wife were active and faithful, long time members of Bethpage United Methodist Church in Kannapolis, NC. They both loved gardening and birdwatching. He loved to tinker with and collect unusual electronic gadgets. He had an interest in anything related to aviation, and LOVED his sweets. Frank was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Lura McWhorter Nagy and Alex Nagy (brother). Survivors include: Son, Charles (Joy) of China Grove NC, Sister, Irene (James) of Kannapolis, NC, Brother, Robert Nagy of Lowell Michigan, Sisters, Sue Peabody of Sun City Center Florida, Esther Kibbey (Stan) of Oriental NC. Grandchildren, Edward Nagy ( Amanda), Natalie Nagy (Russell). Great grandchildren, Braylon Nagy, Weston Nagy, and Naomi Major. The family will receive friends on Monday December 4th, 2017 at Bethpage United Methodist Church in Kannapolis NC from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with the memorial service to follow at 1 p.m. Reverend Mark Portis and Reverend Duane Melton will be officiating the service. The burial service will be held directly after the memorial service at the Bethpage United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family would like to sincerely thank all that showed kindness, care and compassion to Frank during his time of declining health.
