Frank J. Tovornik

Obituary: Frank J. Tovornik, age 79, of Concord passed away Thursday, July 3, 2014, surrounded by his family. His family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, July 10th. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Frank was born August 17, 1934 in Vandling, PA, a son of the late Frank and Mary Poloncic Tovornik. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. Frank retired from IBM after 39 years of service. He never met a stranger and was a loyal friend to all. In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his brother, Edward. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Carol Brain Tovornik and his 5 sons; Frank G. Tovornik (Kelly), Kevin J. Tovornik (Mary), Joseph M. Tovornik, James A. Tovornik (Cindy) and Robert A. Tovornik (Heather) and by 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Bernadette Colburn (Bob) and brother, Richard Tovornik (Lana).
