Frankie Lee Allison

Frankie Lee Allison, 86, of Odell School Road, went to his heavenly home on Saturday, April 27th, 2024, after a period of declining health.

Frankie was born February 4th, 1938, in Kannapolis, NC to the late Hoyle Lacy Allison and Annie Overcash Allison.  He graduated from W. R. Odell School in 1956 and was employed as a machinist with Douglas Aircraft Company, General Time Corporation and Reynolds Metals Company during his working career. He enjoyed serving his community in many aspects: former member of Odell Volunteer Fire Department, past member of Odell Lions Club, youth baseball coach, and a longtime member of Gilwood Presbyterian Church.

Frankie loved the great outdoors and was an avid hunter. He enjoyed many wonderful vacations with the love of his life, Opal, especially exploring the mountains and national parks across the country. Most of all, Frankie cherished the time he spent with family, especially holding each of his grandbabies.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 66 years, Opal Cauble Allison; children, Angie Burris and her husband Darrel of Concord, Amy Bush and her husband Phil of Davidson, Alan Allison and his wife Sharon of Concord, Aaron Allison and his wife Debbie of Marshville, and Andrea Cline and her husband Mark of Concord; 9 grandchildren, Phillip Burris and his wife Ginger, Jamie Burris and his wife Nicole, Jeremy Burris, Blake Bush and his wife Katie, Jessica Clark and her husband Ryan, Brooke Haynes and her husband Patrick, Lacye  Cook and her husband Robbie, Candace Allison and Valerie Allison; 14 great grandchildren, Riley, Maddi, Bree, Owen, Rylan, Lainey, Elsie, Maycee, Alli, Summit, Sadie, Amelia, Elliott and Jack; one sister, Sarah Lomax; and his beloved dog, Charlie.

A memorial service will be held at Gilwood Presbyterian Church in Concord on Sunday, May 5th at 4:30 pm. A burial service will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends after in the fellowship hall.
