Franklin James

Obituary: Franklin D. James, 79, of Kannapolis passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2014 at CMC-Main in Charlotte. He was born June 30, 1935 in Iredell County, the son of the late J.J. James and Irene Sherrill James. He was preceded in death by a brother, Wheeler James. Frank worked at Johnson Motor Lines, Inc. and retired from Yellow Freight Systems, Inc. Charlotte. He loved spending time with his family and friends and sports. He was a member of Brookdale Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Mike Hubbard. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior from 12:30 to 2:00 PM Thursday. He is survived by his wife, Ettie Dean James, daughter, Denise James, son, David F. James (Caroline), grandchildren, Cooper James and Michael James, nieces, Brenda Sherrill, Wanda James and Donna Clark. Memorials may be made to Brookdale Baptist Church, 2511 S.
