Obituary: Franklin Delano Tucker, 82 was born on February 19, 1933 in Chesterfield County, South Carolina to the late D. H. Tucker and Bessie Sellers Allen Tucker. He moved to Kannapolis, NC in 1955. He formerly lived for a number of years at 604 Walnut Street in Kannapolis. He moved to the North Carolina State Veterans Home in June, 2009 where he died on January 5, 2016. Franklin was a kind, generous man who willingly helped others in need. He served his country in the US Armed Forces in Germany from 1953 to 1955. He worked for many years as an electrician at Cannon Mills and later at Pillowtex in Kannapolis North Carolina from which he retired. He is predeceased by his parents Dorsey H. and Bessie Sellers Allen Tucker, a brother Rev. Theron Tucker, and half-siblings including a sister Angie Allen Moser, brothers W. Carson Allen, W. Brunson Allen, and Preston Allen all of Kannapolis. In addition, he was predeceased by half-siblings, Cora Moore of Rockingham, Lena Curtis, Lydia Jenkins, Lacy Tucker and Jasper Tucker of Chesterfield County and Ollie Adkins of Randleman, NC. He is survived by nieces and nephews as follows: Harold D. Moser of Knoxville, TN, Joyce A. Moser and Kenneth A. Moser of Winston Salem, NC, Melba Roscoe of Hartsville, SC, J. V. Allen of Denver, NC, Martha James of Concord, NC, Paulette Hinson of Mooresville, NC, Windel Allen Scott of Lancaster, SC, Ramona Allen Woods of Kannapolis, NC and Voncille Allen Randolph of Wilmington, NC. He is also survived by several special cousins including Edward Sellers and Faye Hollar of Kannapolis, NC and Katie and Bill Hawks of High Point, NC. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. J.V. Allen, a nephew. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M. prior to the service. Interment will follow at 1:00 P.M at Salisbury National Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the Rowan County Veteran's Council and the Army National Guard. May he rest in peace.
