Fred Vinson "Sam" Farley, 84, of Kannapolis died December 27, 2021 at Atrium Health Cabarrus, after a period of declining health. No services will be scheduled at this time.

Sam was born on November 7, 1937 in Haywood Co., NC, a son of the late William H. and Martha Green Farley. In addition to his parents, Fred is preceded in death by his 2 brothers; Ben and Vernon Farley and a sister, Azalea Goolsby. Sam was a longtime area resident and member of West Point Baptist Church. He worked for Champion Paper Company first as a truck driver and later in the paper mill. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed sitting on his front porch wit a cup of coffee. Sam was a fun loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be dearly missed.

Fred is survived by his wife of 61 years, Sue Ellen Landers Farley, his daughters, Brenda Mott (Steve) of Huntersville and Becky Cooper (Tony) of Concord, grandchildren, Kelly Cooper and Andi Newton and her great-granddaughter, Peyton Newton and his 2 sisters; Marlyn McFalls of Waynesville and Geraldine Mann of Jacksonville FL.
