Fred Junior Rogers

Fred J. Rogers, 94 years old, of Charlotte, went home to be with the Lord on June 20, 2024. Fred was born on March 25, 1930, in Charlotte to the late Fred and Maude Rogers.

Fred was an active member of Northside Baptist Church, serving as a deacon, greeter, and usher before joining University Hills Baptist Church in April 2021.  People always commented on his pleasant smile he had all the time.  Fred proudly served his country in US Navy during the Korean War.  Upon retirement of 50 years as Operations Supervisor with the City of Charlotte Street Maintenance Division, a building was named “Roger Hall” in honor of him.

Fred was predeceased by his siblings, Robert, James and Agnes.  He is survived by his loving wife of 70 wonderful years, Colleen “Connie” Lentz Rogers.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 27, 2024, from 10-11am at University Hills Baptist Church, with a 11am funeral service officiated by Rev. Bo Riley to follow.  Interment will follow the service at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis.
