Frederick Otto Bartasek

Frederick Otto Bartasek, 88, of Kannapolis, North Carolina passed peacefully Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at Atrium Health Cabarrus with his family by his side.

Fred was born April 29, 1935, in Queens, NY, son of the late Otto and Eleanor Bartasek.

In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in life by his daughter Donna Bartasek and two of siblings.

Fred was a proud veteran of the US Navy. He was a skilled carpenter working for various general contractors and owned his own contracting company until he retired.

Fred was a loving companion, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his loving companion, Stephanie Mehlrose of Kannapolis, his children Cheryl Stein (Robert) of Ronkonkoma NY, Karen Costanzo (Joseph) of Miller Place NY and Fred Bartasek, Jr. (Victoria) of North Salem,NY as well as 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
