Fulton Michael Forrest

Fulton Michael (Mike) Forrest, age 75, of Kannapolis, passed away on Friday, January 24, 2025.

Born on October 1, 1949, in Rowan County, Mike was the beloved son of the late Murphy Allen Forrest and Rosena Barbee Forrest Shue. He had a profound passion for sports, particularly the NC State Wolfpack, which he avidly followed. Equally significant in his life were his faith and love for southern gospel music. His devotion to worship through music brought him immense joy, particularly when sharing this passion with others. Among his favorite groups was The Kingsmen Quartet. Mike and his wife, Barbara, were dedicated members of Lakeside Park Church of God, where they actively participated in church activities.

Mike will be remembered for his steadfast dedication to his faith and his deep love for his family. It is with peace that we acknowledge he now rests in the arms of the Lord, continuing to sing His praises eternally.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Barbara Kindley Forrest; sons, Brad Forrest (Regina), Jonathan Forrest (Angie), and Todd Forrest (Avery); and grandchildren, Amity Forrest, Ashton Forrest, Kailey Conrad, Camden Conrad, Carter Forrest, and Graham Forrest.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the emergency teams, the life flight team at MedCenter Air, and the physicians and nurses at Atrium Health Cabarrus and Atrium Health CMC Main for their prompt and compassionate care. Special thanks are also extended to the team at Hospice of Cabarrus County for their dedicated support and care provided to both Mike and his family during this challenging time. Your professionalism and compassion were deeply appreciated.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at Whitley’s Funeral Home in Kannapolis. The funeral service will follow immediately at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Brad Forrest of Lakeside Park Church of God in Franklinville, NC and Pastor Todd Forrest of Anchor Point Church of Foley, AL. Interment will take place at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. The family asks that in lieu of flowers please make a donation to Atrium health foundation.
