Gail Etchison

Obituary: Ms. Barbara Gail Etchison, 81, of Kannapolis, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 4, 2018 after an extended illness. She was born March 12, 1936 in Cabarrus County to Elridge Floyd Collins and Lillie Mae Reed Collins. Gail enjoyed her church, being with friends, talking on the phone and going to the beach, she was a very social person. Gail was preceded in death by her parents and one brother. She is survived by her son Terrell Collins Lear of Kannapolis, two daughters Kimberly Etchison Steele and husband Jerry of Kannapolis, Shasta Hatley Matthews and husband Dwight of Concord, eight grandchildren and 6 great -grandchildren. A Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, February 9, 2018 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Willie Rash officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 P.M. until 1:45 P.M. prior to the service. Gail will be laid to rest in Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, N.C.
