Obituary: Cynthia "Gail" Hatley James, 68, of Charlotte, formerly of China Grove, NC went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 17, 2018 at CHC-Main, Charlotte. She was born March 4, 1950 in Cabarrus County, NC a daughter of the late James and Lucille Almond Hatley. Gail was a graduate of South Rowan High School and UNC-Charlotte. She was a retired IT project manager with Wells-Fargo Bank. She enjoyed volunteering at nursing homes where she taught arts and crafts. She was willing to share and help anyone in need. She was an avid pet lover. Survivors include her husband, Frank N. James of the Home, a daughter, Kathryn Christenbury of China Grove, a cousin, Betty Talley of Concord, brother-in-law, Mac Christenbury and wife, Mary and nephew Chris Christenbury, all of Huntersville, and Randy Christenbury, father of her daughter Kathryn, of Charlotte. Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Mike Hubbard. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Mt. Mitchell United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family request that memorials be made to Shriner's Hospitals for Crippled Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607, or the Humane Society of the donor's choice.
