Gary Duane Ketcham

Gary Duane Ketcham, 68, of Kannapolis and formerly of Otisville, NY, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 25, 2021 at Atrium Health Main in Charlotte following a period of declining health.

Gary was born May 22, 1953 in Orange County, N.Y, a son of the late Raymond Duane Ketcham and Dorothy Vivian Sausville Ketcham.

Gary was a member of Otisville Presbyterian Church. He also was a member of the Otisville and Mt. Hope volunteer fire Departments where he had served as chief of the Otisville Fire Department.

He was employed as a correction officer at Otisville Correctional Facility. He also worked for the family business; Ketcham fencing company.

Gary enjoyed camping and was always fixing something or making plans for a future project.

He dearly loved his family and his grandchildren.

Family members left to cherish their time with Gary include his wife of 35 years, Jo Ann Austin Ketcham, a daughter, Katie Decker and husband William of Concord, two grandchildren; Hailey and Cole.

He is also survived by two brothers, Terry Ketcham and Dennis Ketcham along with one sister, Jill Dodd. Several nieces and a nephew also survive.

The family will hold a memorial service for Gary at a later date.
