Gary Melton Sweatt

Obituary: Gary Melton Sweatt, 64, of Kannapolis passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at CMC-NorthEast. He was born December 20, 1948 in Cabarrus County, the son of the late Eugene and Doris Haskins Sweatt. Gary owned and operated Plain or Fancy Catering in Kannapolis since 1992. He loved to cook, travel but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of the Kannapolis Rotary Club. Family and friends will gather at Whitley's Funeral Home Annex Chapel on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013 from 1:00 to 3:00 to celebrate Gary's life. He is survived by his wife, Alma Goetzinger Sweatt, step-children, Jason Haynes (Jennifer) of Concord, Jessica Haynes of Kannapolis, grandchildren, Grayson Haynes and Lilly Beth Bost, and his sister, Judy Roberts of Concord.
