Gaynell L. Burris

Obituary: Gaynell L. Burris age 89, of Kannapolis passed away Friday, December 1, 2017 at The Brian Center of Salisbury. Mrs. Burris was born February 5, 1928 in Cabarrus County the daughter of the late Carl "Blackie" Lewis and Gertrude O'Neil Tarleton. She was a long time employee and retired from Cannon Mills. She was of the Baptist faith. Gaynell was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Preceding her in death was her husband Claude Clinton Burris; brother Pete Lewis. Those left to cherish her memories are her sons Ricky Burris (Susan) of Kannapolis, Nicky Burris of Concord and Kyle "Monk" Burris of Kannapolis; grandchildren Richard "Dirk" Burris (Kimmie), Zachary Darren Burris and Nikky Y. Burris; great-grandson Rian D. Burris; sister Geraldine Lewis Woodard. There will be a private graveside service. Memorials: Hospice of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
