Obituary: Gaynell Duty Williams, age 66, of 3232 Penninger Rd. Concord died unexpectedly on Tuesday January 3, 2012 at CMC-NE.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, January 6 at Highland Baptist Church, Concord with Rev. James Mullis and Rev. Chuck Overcash. Burial will follow at New Gilead UCC Cemetery in Concord. The family will receive friends at the Highland Baptist Church 1 hour prior to the funeral, at other times they will be at the family home.Gaynell was born Oct. 5, 1945, a daughter of the late Harden R. and Ruby Mae Rimer Duty. Life long area resident, she was educated in the Cabarrus Co. School system. Gaynell was employed as a winder at Cannon Mils Plant #1 for many years. Later she worked in facilities management at UNCC until retiring in 2009 after 13 years. She was a member of Highland Baptist Church. Gaynell was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She will be deeply missed. In addition to her parents, Gaynell was preceded in death by her brother John Duty.She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Gary "Wayne" Williams of the family home, her son Frank William "Chuck" Wilson, Jr. also of the family home, her daughters; Tamara Gay "Tammy" Roney (John) of Jay FL and Crystal Wilson Beam (Kevin) of Kannapolis, her 5 grandchildren; Mandi, Travis and Colt Beaver and Dillon and Brooklyn Beam and 1 great-granddaughter, Kendall. Also surviving are 4 brothers; C. L. Duty of Kannapolis, Frank Duty of Concord, Tony Duty of Rockwell and Tommy Duty of Concord and 4 sisters; Lillie "Sis" Kee of Kannapolis, Mary Jane Morgan of Pageland, Ada Linda Patrick and Martha Benton, both of Concord.Online condolences may be left at www.whitleysfuneralhome.com and memorials may be made to Highland Baptist Church, 309 Linden Ave SW Concord NC 28025
