Gaynelle Pauline (West) Harrington

September 10, 1928 — February 2, 2023

Gaynelle West Harrington, 94, of Concord, passed away peacefully at her residence on Thursday, February 2, 2023.


Gaynelle was born on September 10, 1928 in Cabarrus County. She was the cherished daughter of the late Marvin West and Estelle Edwards Leazer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Hall L. Harrington, second husband, John S. Moose and her brother Kenneth" Pete" West.


Gaynelle was a lifelong resident of Concord. She was a member of Brookdale Baptist Church, where she enjoyed attending worship. She spent her career as a hair stylist. She worked extremely hard to open her own salon in 1948, becoming owner and operator of Gaynelle's Beauty Shop. Gaynelle loved to reminisce of times growing up with her brother, Pete She was a kind and gentle lady that will be dearly missed by all who knew her.


Gaynelle is survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.


Visitation for Gaynelle will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, February 6, 2023 at Whitley's Funeral Home in Kannapolis. A graveside service will follow at 2:00pm at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
