Gene Livengood

Obituary: Gene William "Julio" Livengood, 70, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2018, at his home, following a period of declining health. Born July 1, 1948 in Iredell County, he was a son of the late Carl William and Ester Leen Byrd Livengood. In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce F. Livengood; his brother, Carl Livengood and his sister, Judy L. Parsons. Mr. Livengood had proudly served his country with the US Army during the Vietman War, and had retired from Allied Concrete after more than 30 years of loyal service. His leisure was filled with a love for the outdoors, NASCAR and his dogs, especially Chihuahua's. Family members with cherished memories include his step children, Casandra Seaman, Gwendolyn Brackett and Gary Hyman Jr. and wife, Renee'; numerous step grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family members. Graveside services to remember and celebrate the life of Mr. Livengood will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, November 14th at Carolina Memorial Park Cemetery in Kannapolis, with military honors. The family will receive friends at the cemetery from 10:00-11:00 prior to the service. Memorials may be made in Mr. Livengood's name to Faithful Friends, 220 Grace Church Rd., Salisbury, NC 28147.
