Gene Trammell

Obituary: Gene Paul Trammell, 80, of Kannapolis went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Northeast Medical Center, Concord following a short illness. Gene was born May 17, 1938 in Cabarrus County, NC a son of the late Colson Orvin and Margaret Hurd Orvin. He was also preceded in death by his step mother, Linnie Orvin and a brother Thomas Colson Orvin. He was a licensed electrician with IBEW Local 379 for 31 years. He was a veteran of Korea serving with the US Air Force. Gene was a member of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church. Family members left to cherish his memory are his wife of 50 years; Joyce Barringer Trammell, two daughters; Tracy Eudy and husband Roy of Concord, and Elizabeth O'Brian and husband Darren of Rockwell. He is also survived by two sisters, Lynda Wise and husband Phil of Kannapolis and Joanne Orvin of Kannapolis. He is also survived by three grandchildren; Matthew Eudy, Jessica Eudy Martin and husband Jess and Tyler O'Brian and two great grandchildren; Amelia and Conrad Martin. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Wes Judy. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 12:30- 2:00 P.M. prior to the service. At other times they will be at the residence of a daughter, Elizabeth O'Brian of Rockwell.
