George Franklin Price

Obituary: George Franklin Price, age 90, went to be with his Lord on Monday, October 6, 2014 at his home after a short illness. He was born November 12, 1923 in Chesterfield County, SC, the son of the late Acie Clayton Price and Dicie Ola Price. George was employed as an air conditioning technician with the former Cannon Mills Company, Swink Plant, for many years until his retirement in 1990. He was a faithful member of Central Baptist Church, Kannapolis, NC where he had served as a greeter with his wife, on the board of deacons, and active in other phases of church activities. His family fondly remembers his love of camping. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one brother and seven sisters. The funeral service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Friday, October 10, 2014 at Central Baptist Church, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Curtis Parker. Burial will be at 11:00 am Saturday, October 11, 2014 at West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove, NC. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Friday at the church prior to the service. The family will be at the home the remainder of the time. Survivors include his wife of seventy years, Mildred Jordan Price; two daughters, Brenda Smith & husband, Joe of Salisbury, NC and Peggy Tadlock & husband, Eddie of Kannapolis, NC; one sister, Mildred Newton of Chesterfield, SC; three grandchildren, Brian Smith & wife, Dana of Concord, NC; Melissa Harrison & husband, Mark of Castle Rock, CO; and Kelly Robinson & husband, Davian of Kannapolis, NC; and six great-grandchildren, Madison Robinson, Cooper Harrison, Griffin Harrison, Ella Kate Harrison, Cameron Threadgill, and Celeste Threadgill.
