George Oren Stacey

George Oren Stacey, Sr., 93 years old went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 27, 2022, surrounded by his family. George was born on September 10, 1928 in Rutherford County, NC to the late John and Douglas Rhymer Stacey.

George was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.  He was the owner and operator of S & D Insurance in Concord and prior to going into business for himself, he was an agency manager for Farm Bureau Insurance in Concord.  George enjoyed playing golf and loved to garden and maintain his yard.  He was an active member for 42 years at Gilwood Presbyterian Church.

George was predeceased by his son George Stacey, Jr., his three brothers and three sisters.  Those surviving to cherish his memory are his wife of 42 years, Glenda Winecoff Stacey; his daughters, Marie Barclay, Leela Goldberg and her husband Dan and Rhonda Lowder and her husband Clint; his daughter-in-law, Mary Stacey; his grandchildren, Charlee Fisher and her husband J., Thomas and Grant Goldberg, Shelby Stacey, and Madison and Erin Lowder; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 3, 2022 from 1-3pm at Gilwood Presbyterian Church, 2993 Odell School Rd, Concord, NC with a funeral service to follow at 3pm.  Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery.
