Obituary: Kannapolis, NCGeorgia Henry Efird, 85, beloved mom, grannie and aunt, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Oct. 10, 2011 from her home. She was born November 28, 1925 in Cabarrus County, the daughter of the late George Washington Henry and Laura Jane Hegler Henry. She was preceded in death by a grand-daughter Hattie Louise Childress, a grandson Bryan Edward Carter, four brothers Whit, Sherman, Elmer and John Henry and her sister Lila Mae McClellan. She retired from Cabarrus County school system working at Royal Oaks Elementary school. She was a charter member of Vision Baptist Church in Rockwell. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Friday, Oct. 14, 2011 at Solid Rock Worship Center, 3000 Centergrove Rd., Kannapolis officiated by Rev. Harry "Trouper" Ferguson and Rev. Raymond Davis. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 at the church. At other times the family will be at the residence, 4005 Sunrise Dr., Kannapolis.She is survived by her son, Joseph Wayne Childress (Kathryn) of Kenly, NC, her daughter Bobbie Carter (Ed) of Kannapolis, 3 grandsons: Todd Childress (Gina) of Wilson, Steve Childress (Vikki) of Jacksonville, and Chad Carter (Jaclyn) of Brooklyn, NY, and five great-grandchildren: Brad, Jordan, Kayla and Mary Beth Childress and Georgia Helen Carter. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081 or to your local church or charity of choice.

Service: 2:30 p.m. Friday, October 14, 2011 Solid Rock Worship Center

Interment: Carolina Memorial Park
