Georgia Marie (Milam) Moore

Georgia Marie Milam Moore, 98, of Kannapolis went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 31, 2023 following a short illness.

Georgia was the last surviving of nine children born to Juit Lester and Naomi Foster Milam.

She was born April 21, 1924 in Rowan County, N.C.

Georgia was a lifelong member of Shadybrook Baptist Church. She had retired from Terry Products following many years of service. She was an excellent seamstress and sewed for the public as well as her family.

Georgia was known for having her family over every Sunday where she hosted a large meal for everyone. She especially was known for her desserts. She was an avid reader, enjoyed spending time with her family and helping others.

Funeral services for Mrs. Moore will be held 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Charlie Littlejohn. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 Noon until the time of the service. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park Cemetery where she will be laid to rest beside her husband of 51 years; Harold Eugene Moore who preceded her in death January 22, 1998.

Family members surviving include two sons; Gary Moore(Paula) of Concord and Roger Moore(Teresa) of Stanfield. Also surviving are two grandchildren; Rebekah Taylor (Travis) of Concord and Dylan Moore of Kannapolis. She is also survived by three great grandchildren; McKenzie, Kipton and Hudson Taylor.
