Gerald William Riley

Obituary: Gerald William Riley, 54, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at CMC-NorthEast, Concord, NC. He was born November 3, 1955 in Cabarrus County the son of the late Endle Warren Riley and Doris Aileen Blackwell Riley of Kannapolis. Mr. Riley was a lifelong area resident. He was educated in the Cabarrus County schools and a 1974 graduate of NW Cabarrus High School. He served in the Army National Guard. He was a graduate of Rowan Cabarrus Community College with an Associates Degree in Tool and Die. He was employed by Pass and Seymour Legrand in Concord as a tool and die maker. He was a member of Bethpage Presbyterian Church in Kannapolis. He loved his motorcycles, the lake, and watching A.L. Brown Football. He had a great sense of humor. He was a loving husband, father and brother. He will be dearly missed. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two children: Olivia Dawn and Chasity Dawn Riley. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 35 years Teresa Rhinehardt Riley of the home. Sisters: Phyllis Brewer, Margie Riley, and Tammy Tucker (Danny), Brother: Rondal Riley (Cindy) all of Kannapolis. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2009 at 11:00 AM in the Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eric Burris and Rev. Scott Christy officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00AM-11:00AM at Whitley's Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. At all other times the family will be at the residence.
