Geraldine Allman Bynum

Obituary: Geraldine Gray Allman Bynum, 76, formerly of Kannapolis went home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 21, 2018 at Tucker Hospice House after a period of declining health. Geraldine was born May 30, 1942 in Cabarrus County to the late Gray (Bill) Allman and Mattie Chapman Allman. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Tyrone Wayne Allman and a son, Phillip Ray Childress. Geraldine enjoyed many things in life especially spending time with her family and friends, going shopping, antiquing, gardening, reading her Bible and listening to gospel music. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Tim Newton. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends from 10 to 11 prior at Whitley's. Afterwards, they will be at her son's home. Those left to cherish her memory include her longtime companion, Jacob C. Compton of Mooresville, a sister, Carol Jean Allman of Mooresville, a son, Larry "Gene" Childress and (Tonia Bynum) of Concord, three grandchildren, Jessica Martin and husband, Micah of Clemmons, Regina Hedrick and husband, Joshua of Lexington, Heather Page of Granite Quarry and four great grandchildren.
