Geraldine Gainey Honeycutt

Geraldine Gainey Honeycutt, 96, of Kannapolis, peacefully passed away Saturday morning, November 2,2024, at Tucker Hospice House.

Born May 8, 1928, in Cabarrus County, she was a daughter of the late William and Sylvia Hallman Gainey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Buford Honeycutt; sons, David and Larry Honeycutt; and a granddaughter, Kristin Honeycutt.

Mrs. Honeycutt retired from the weave department of Cannon Mills after more than 50 years of loyal service. She enjoyed traveling and absolutely loved her family. A loving and devoted mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother, Geraldine will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her.

Family members left to cherish her memory include her son, Phil Honeycutt (Cathy); daughter-in-law, Jane Honeycutt; her sisters, Hazel Canupp (TC Small) and Evelyn Ryan (Bobby); her grandchildren, Bryan Honeycutt (Angie), Chandra Holcomb (Marc), Daniel Honeycutt (Morgan); 11 great grandchildren, 4 nieces and nephews and extended family members.

A graveside service to remember and celebrate Geraldine’s life will begin at 1:00 pm Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at Carolina Memorial Park, conducted by Mitchell Canupp.
