Geraldine J. Sellers

Obituary: Mrs. Geraldine J. Sellers, 89, formerly of China Grove, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, January 30, 2017 after an extended illness. She was born May 21, 1927 in Cabarrus County to the late Guy Johnson and the late Dorothy Phillips Johnson Russell. She was a charter member of Memorial United Methodist Church. Geraldine loved to be outdoors working in her garden and especially mowing. She was an excellent cook. Geraldine enjoyed listing to tapes of the services of her church and gospel music. Most of all she enjoyed being with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert Andrew Sellers, and son Danny Lee Sellers, two grandchildren Jason Lee Lambert and Justin Ryan Brawley. Survivors include her daughters, Jane Brawley, Peggy Lambert and husband Steve all of China Grove, N.C., grandchildren Ben Lambert and wife Tammy of Charleston, S.C., Jessica Brawley of China Grove, N.C., Jeremy Sellers of Kannapolis, N.C., eight great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday February 2, 2017, at Memorial United Methodist Church with Pastor Craig Allen officiating. Receiving of friends will be at the church from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Burial will be in Carolina Memorial Park. Online condolences may be left at www.whitleysfuneralhome.com
