Obituary: Gibson Fisher "Gip" Beach, 88, of Salisbury passed away on Friday, June 26, 2015 at the V.A. Hospice House. He was born November 11, 1926 in Leesburg, Va., the son of the late Jack Nathaniel Beach and Elizabeth Rebecca Fisher Beach. He was a retired union painter having worked in Washington, DC and Florida for many years. He was a veteran of WW II US Army serving as a MP in the Philippines. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Ida Gelava Clodfelter Beach, 7 children, Don Beach, Ron Beach, Ken Beach, Bonnie Blount, Betty Hammond, Karen McDuffie and Larry Beach, 20 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren, two brothers, Jack and William Beach and two sisters, Marie Donahay and Anne Miller. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Living Waters Church, Kannapolis officiated by Rev. Wade Easom and Rev. Ken Beach. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 prior at the church. Burial will be at the National Cemetery, Salisbury at 11:00 AM Friday, July 3, 2015.
