Obituary: Gina Dawn Smith, 51, of Kannapolis, passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at Levine Hospice House in Huntersville after a lengthy battle with rheumatoid arthritis. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rodger Sellers officiating. She was born January 6, 1967 in Cabarrus Co. Gina was a graduate of South Rowan High School and Kings College. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, traveling to the beach or the mountains. She will be remembered as a sweet and loving daughter, mother, grandmother, and friend. Those left to cherish her memories, her parents, Randy and Priscilla Earnhardt, two daughters, Michaela Smith Perkins (Josh) of Concord, Brittany Smith of Concord, one sister Miranda Childress (West) of Concord, two brothers, Brandon Earnhardt of Kannapolis, Mike Earnhardt (Carol) of Kernersville, NC, two grandchildren, Carson and Carter, also surviving is her significant other, Jeff Hurst.
