Gloria Lynne (Lovett) Calvert

Gloria Lynne Lovett Calvert, 65, of Monroe went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at McWhorter Hospice House in Monroe surrounded by her loving family following a short illness.

Gloria was born August 2, 1956 in Cabarrus County, N. C. a daughter of Everett Monroe Lovett and Hazel Lee Holland.

She was a 1974 graduate of A.L. Brown High School. She was employed by Atrium Health Monroe as an X-ray technician with 25 years of service. She enjoyed crocheting, Facebook, and worshiped her children and grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Sunday, October 24, 2021 at Whitley’s Funeral Home conducted by Rev. Michael Landrum. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, China Grove.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Ashley.

Family members left to cherish her memory include her husband of 17 years, Rodney Calvert, one son, Joshua Miles of China Grove, a daughter, Meredith Miles of Monroe, three grandchildren; Sean, Paisely, and Leyla along with two sisters, Lucy McDonald of Benson, NC and Donna Taylor of Mint Hill.

The family request that memorials be made to Northside Baptist Church,  333 Jeremiah Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28262, or to Faithfull Friends Animal Sanctuary, 220 Grace Church Rd, Salisbury, NC 28147.
