Gloria Williams Sharpe

Obituary: Gloria Jean Williams Sharpe, 69, of Kannapolis went home to be with her Lord on Monday, June 26, 2017 from her residence after a period of declining health. Her family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 28 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Her funeral service will be held at noon on Thursday, June 29 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Pauley officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Gloria was born March 1, 1948 in Mecklenburg Co., a daughter of the late Oscar and Evelyn Ervin Sharpe. She was a lifelong area resident and member of Faith Baptist Church. Gloria worked as seamstress for many local apparel manufacturers until she retired. She was a wonderful homemaker. Gloria was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She will be dearly missed. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 50 years, Donald Sharpe of the home, her daughter, Donna Sharpe Robison (Tim) of New London, her son, Brian Sharpe (Crystal) of China Grove, her grandchildren, Amber and Brandon Sharpe, Michael Connelly and Anthony, Derek, Jeremy and Brian Robison as well as 3 great-grandsons. Gloria is also survived by her sisters, Sheila Godwin of Lucia NC and Robin Warren of Gaston NC and her brothers, Walter Williams of W. Columbia SC and Oscar Williams of Monroe.
