Gordon Eugene Campbell, 86, of Mooresville, passed away Friday evening, April 7, 2023, at Five Oaks Manor.
Born February 4, 1937, in Cabarrus County, he was the son of the late Albert Franklin and Edna Bolick Campbell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Madelline Donehue.
Mr. Campbell had retired from Corriher Mill after many years of dedicated service, having later worked for Auto Zone. He enjoyed fishing, NASCAR and watching old westerns TV Shows. Gordon was a member of the Kannapolis Loyal order of Moose. A loving and devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather, he will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew and loved him.
Family members include his beloved wife of 32 years, Edith Campbell; his son, Jamie Cobb (Malia); daughters, Rita C. Brigman (Rick), Rhonda C. Lewis (Rick) and Regina C. Wilson (Tony), his step daughters, Darlene Hicks (Monroe) and Rhonda Smith (William); sisters, Juanita Williams and Maxine Campbell; 12 grandchildren, 7 Great grandchildren, special great nephew, Chris James and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM Thursday, April 13th at Whitley’s Funeral Home. Graveside services to remember Mr. Campbell will begin at 2:00 PM at Carolina Memorial Park Cemetery, conducted by Shawn Beaver, Pastor.
