Grace Miller Grisdale

Obituary: Kannapolis, NC- Grace Miller Grisdale, age 94, died Thursday, February 25, 2010 at the home of her daughter in Mooresville, NC. She was born April 6, 1915 in Rowan County, NC, the daughter of the late John Edgar Miller and Mary Margaret McLain Miller. She was a lifetime resident of the area. She was employed with the former Cannon Mills Co. Plt.#1 Sewing Room for 47 years until her retirement in 1980. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Kannapolis, NC where she had been involved in Sunday School for many years. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, George R. Grisdale, Sr. who died November 9, 2006 and a sister, Vera Lee. The funeral service will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, February 27, 2010 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Brant Piper. Burial will follow at Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Salisbury, NC. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service. Survivors include her daughter, Mary Nell Watson & husband, John of Mooresville, NC; her son, Johnny Ray Grisdale, Sr. of Concord, NC; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
